Type

Some retro, yet stylish fonts I found that I will try to incorporate into the book moving forward.

THOUGHTS...

Ok, well its clear that I'm finishing the semester without any completed projects. Although that is the case, I must say that I've earned a lot of insight into what is known as the 'design process', something that was only first presented to me at the end of my last semester at Parsons.

I plan to continue on the "Taxi Driver" project, finish it as a book and then expand it into a motion graphics piece. WATCH OUT.

Taxi Driver

1st attempt at a possible cover. Still thinking of how to possibly incorporate it with the "design" on the cover of an composition notebook.

Project 2...Some Details

So I'm lacking behind on the projects because of the insane amount of OT I've been having to pull at work, and also because I had a Lasik procedure done this past Saturday which rendered me useless all weekend to get any work done. I know, I know, excuses excuses, but I promise to catch up, because I do want to do the work.

I read the article by Karel Martens and I STOLE the line "Design determines the quality of our common life", and decided to do a poster based on that, I'll discuss it further in class but here are some images for my concept.

TYPEFACES on V2

Update on the Type Specimen book

Well, I attempted a redo. I looked at misprintedtype.com as Gen suggested. Found some cool typefaces. I got a little discouraged when I read the e-mail saying

"i'm not looking to see a lot of funky fonts that can only be used once in a design career,"

which I completely agree, but then thought that "classic" fonts might not fit the ambience that "Taxi Driver" projects. So my idea is up in the air now. Perhaps I should rethink the text of my book.

Below is an idea I thought of for text type. Since I choose the text from the movie that was being narrated from his journal, I ripped pieces of paper, scanned them and placed the images behind some text type.
